Charnwood 100

The Charnwood chicken house is a traditional, high quality, wooden, walk-in chicken coop for up to 100 free range hens. The hen house is 7' high at the ridge, so you can walk-in and stand up in it. It has 10 traditional wooden nest boxes, as standard, which are accessed from the outside of the house. We offer two tier nest boxes on this design which doubles the amount of nest boxes. Perches run along the back of the chicken house with a droppings board underneath for easy cleaning. There are shutters on the outside of the house which can be hooked up and the hen droppings can be scraped out easily into a wheel barrow. The droppings board and the perches can also be lifted out of the chicken shed for a deep clean.

At the front of the nest boxes there are hinged nest box rails for the birds to jump onto before they get in the nest box, these can be hooked up to shut the birds off the nests at night. Sliding glass windows at the front of the poultry house allow light and ventilation. At each end of the hen house there are large pop holes for the hens to be released into the field or run, having two pop holes allows pasture rotation. The poultry house is supplied of wooden skids as standard. Metal towing skids are an option if you need to move the poultry house around fields.

Please note we now make the nest box roof with Stockboard, which is a durable recycled black plastic. Some of our photos show the nest boxes with a felt roof.

This chicken shed is delivered by our team in flat sections and onsite assembly is included in the price so long as our team can get close to the site where it is to be erected. If they cannot please inform the office and the cost of assembly can be deducted from the price. Our team can pre-drill most of the pilot holes and instructions can be sent for customer assembly. We do not hold stock of our poultry houses as they are all handmade to order. Therefore there is a delay between order and delivery which varies depending on the time of year.
