The Thicket Chicken House

The Thicket Chicken Coop is our most popular wooden chicken house with a covered run. It is suitable for up to 14 standard sized chickens or 18 bantam sized, but we offer bespoke sizes in this custom chicken coop range. This small chicken house has a raised house area to deter vermin problems and to make it easy to clean. The whole hen house is roofed with black corrugated onduline to give the chickens shelter, it also has 2 boards around the base, again to give the chickens some extra shelter and to deter predators digging.

The portable chicken coop can be moved using the carrying handles, it is very strong so can only be moved onto the next patch of ground. These carrying poles double up as day time perches, but they can be removed if preferred.

Additions

All our chicken coops and runs are made to order but there are certain things that we are asked for frequently:-

• A pop hole in the wire end -  this gives the advantage that the chickens can be let out without sheep/dogs etc being able to get into the chicken run and eat the chicken food.
• A 3' run extension - this extends this small chicken coop by 3' giving the hens extra run space if they are going to be kept in the run
• Wheels - The Thicket can become a chicken coop on wheels. The wheels are bolted on one end of the hen house so that the poultry house can be lifted and pushed around.
• Green roofing - as standard the roof is black, some customers prefer green
• PRO Chicken guard - this is an electronic pop hole opening device, it operates to open and close the pop hole on either time or light.

This handmade chicken coop is for sale online for delivery across England and Wales. The chicken house is delivered by our team in flat sections for customer assembly. We pre-drill most of the holes to make it easy for you to put together and all the fixings are supplied with instructions. We do not hold a stock of our chicken coops as they are all handmade to order. Therefore there is a delay between order and delivery which varies depending on the time of year.
